Marquand's brace earns Saints a point
DANNY MARQUAND has a habit of blowing hot and cold on the football pitch, but he was on fire for half-an-hour after half-time at Blanche Pierre Lane on Friday night.
When Simon Tostevin slotted home a 40th minute penalty to double the visitors' lead after Liam Mahon's opener, it seemed inevitable that the North bandwagon would roll on and a third straight FNB Priaulx League win be achieved.
But in truly splendid style, back came Saints to dominate the second period and snatch a deserved point thanks to Marquand's brace.
Both of the other Priaulx League matches over the weekend also ended in draws with Rangers and UCF Sylvans finishing 2-2 at the College Field while Vale Rec and Rovers shared six goals at the Corbet Field.
