No light yet at the end of Vale Rec's tunnel
DESPITE their long fundraising campaign being successfully completed, Vale Rec are still waiting indefinitely for their new floodlights at the Corbet Field.
And as a result of the delay caused by manufacturers shipping the wrong parts, scheduled matches at the ground are continuing to be rearranged.
'It could be a week, it could be a fortnight, it could be two months, at the moment we just don't know and it is incredibly frustrating after all the hard work we put in,' said Vale Rec secretary Lester Forman.
In terms of the fixtures that have thus far been affected, four scheduled Rec matches have had to be moved from their original dates.
Two of those have been moved to a different day, while the other two saw venues switch and the fixtures reversed, so that they will get home games later in the season.
