Oops! GFC turn up for wrong flight

GUERNSEY FC will get the chance to replay their Ryman South fixture with Carshalton Athletic, despite a travel error putting paid to Saturday's scheduled game.

The Green Lions were due to visit the UK for the game, but due to an unfortunate mix-up with flight times and arriving for the wrong flight, they were unable to get off-island.

Carshalton have sportingly agreed to reschedule the game, likely to be a Tuesday night sometime by mid-December.

'The team was due to travel to Gatwick this morning but due to a mix-up over flight times was unable to do so. With a high volume of passengers travelling due to the beginning of the half-term holiday, no alternative options to accommodate the team were available.'

It is the first time such an error has ever occurred for GFC, either for home or away fixtures, in what was due to be their 168th game in their fourth season.

What started as a bad day for the Lions got much better, though, as other results didn't see them drop from their original 14th place in the table and they are still only six points off of the play-offs.
