'Relegation has not crossed our minds'

THE threat of relegation is not even being contemplated by Jordan Reynolds.

Guernsey, who have won just two of their nine games so far, dropped to second from bottom in National Three London & South-East with Saturday's 34-17 defeat away to Westcliff, but their director of rugby insists his side are capable of rising up the table once their horrendous injury problems begin to ease.

'It is difficult to look at the season as a whole when you are struggling to put a side out, but we are just having a hard battle at the moment,' Reynolds said.

'Last season we were in exactly the same position at this stage and ended up fifth in the league, so, and I know it's a cliche, we are just concentrating on each game as it comes.

'If you are asking if we are worried about relegation, I'd say certainly not at the moment because we have got a very strong first team and a good group in the second team, but we are into our third string right now.

'Once we start getting players back, we will start picking up wins.'
