Jones, 40, a professional cricketer for 20 years and now head of cricket at Wellington School, as well as running his own performance enhancing business, created a great impression at the recent GCB-JCB Cricket Coaching Conference at the ICG Centre, and director of cricket Nic Pothas is delighted to have secured him to assist the development of our island bowlers.

'I would like to take this opportunity to welcome Steffan on board as our bowling consultant.

'Having played against Steff on many occasions, he was always a player who would run through walls for his team and one you could never take lightly, which reflects on a long and successful career as a professional.

'I am very conscious of surrounding Guernsey Cricket and its players with people who reflect our values and what we are trying to achieve, not only on the field as cricketers but also with respect to growing and developing the person.'

Jones said he was delighted to be helping Nic Pothas 'build a foundational and sustainable fast bowling programme for Guernsey cricket'.

He added: 'I'm looking forward to working with the bowlers and to hopefully instil a professional approach and a disciplined mindset to their training.'
