DEFENDING Jersey Squash Classic champion Chris Simpson is delighted that an increased prize fund of $25,000 will make the 2015 edition a PSA international level event and it will be played on an all-glass court in Fort Regent.

The Guernseyman, who is ranked 22nd in the world, has won back-to-back titles in Jersey, but he admits that next year's event, which will take place from 19-24 May, will be the toughest yet.

'Having the glass court will really make a difference to the tournament, it will be the first time a glass court has been in the Channel Islands since 1993,' Simpson said.

'With the extra prize money comes more ranking points so I expect the field to be the strongest yet, but this season I have made winning a 25k event one of my main goals – so far without success – so I hope Jersey will be the one I can win.'
