The secret is out – Barnes is back

THE secret weapon is no longer a secret – so Jordan Reynolds cannot pull off another big con.

It was no coincidence that Guernsey ended a five-match losing streak on the day scrum-half Malcolm Barnes returned to action to inspire his side to a 29-20 victory over Tonbridge Juddians last week and GRFC director of rugby Jordan Reynolds, who has been bemoaning his lack of a No. 9 since Dale Rutledge left the island while Barnes was injured, cannot hide his delight at having his star asset available again.

However, he also admitted that he will be unable to pull the wool over the opposition's eyes tomorrow when Guernsey travel to East Grinstead in the way he did last week.

Reynolds also reported that Barnes suffered no ill effects from his first game back after recovering from a dislocated shoulder.

'He was a little bit sore, but that's about it. He was pretty happy with how it went.'
