Reynolds bemoans loss of focus

GUERNSEY had their chance to snatch a dramatic victory at Barnes on Saturday, but in the end they got what they deserved, according to director of rugby Jordan Reynolds.

The home side eventually got the better of the green-and-whites 29-24 in a see-saw battle, although Guernsey can take some solace that the losing bonus point they gained moved them off the bottom of National Three London & South-East.

'To be off the bottom is good,' Reynolds said yesterday.

'We have worked hard in recent weeks, picked up some great wins over Tonbridge Juddians and Chichester, as well as picking up bonus points against East Grinstead and in this game, which could prove to be vital.

'We are probably three or four wins from creeping out of the bottom three now.'

However, that positive aspect from the weekend was tempered by the performance in Reynolds' eyes.

'It was extremely disappointing,' he said. 'There was some good stuff that we did, but in typical Guernsey fashion we started really well then dropped off.

'I think we only played for about 20-30 minutes in the whole game and the rest was all Barnes.'
