Home wins hold the key for GRFC

HOME results will be the decisive factor in whether Guernsey can pull clear of relegation trouble according to their head coach.

Gravesend visit Footes Lane tomorrow (2.30pm kick off) and GRFC director of rugby Jordan Reynolds emphasised yesterday that his side's form in front of the Garenne Stand faithful is the key to their National Three London & South-East season from now on.

'We have got six home games left, all against teams in the bottom section of the league, and we have got to pick up home wins,' Reynolds said.

'If we are not picking up wins against these sides around us at home, we know we are going to be in a lot of trouble.

'That is not to say it is going to be easy – we are going to have to work extremely hard – but we have Gravesend now having beaten TJs and Chichester in our last two home games, so we have to take some confidence from that.'

Reynolds has also been buoyed by recent results on their travels and even though he said Guernsey played some of their worst rugby away at Barnes last week, the way they emerged with a losing bonus point in the narrow 29-24 defeat gives him cause for optimism.
