GFC's Tardif hopeful of a positive result

COMING away from tomorrow's clash against the unbeaten league leaders with a positive result could be the springboard to Guernsey FC reaching the Ryman South play-offs.

That is the admission of Green Lions goalkeeper Chris Tardif, who will be a key figure as his side look to become the first side to beat Burgess Hill Town in the league this season.

Both sides are in fine form, with GFC winning their last five games, which has made it all the more frustrating for Tardif that two away games in the space of four days were postponed.

But the former professional hopes the momentum can be maintained and says that the Lions fear nobody, not even the side who have won 23 of their 28 games thus far.

'Burgess Hill have ground out a number of wins in the last few weeks, maybe when not at their best, which is exactly what league champions do,' said Tardif.

'I have no doubt at all now that they will be promoted as champions and one game against us isn't going to affect that, but it could well be a platform for us to go on and reach the play-offs.'

Tomorrow could also mark the return of Ross Allen to GFC's starting line-up, nearly five months after his last start at East Grinstead Town.

Tomorrow's match kicks off at 12.45pm.
