Worried De Garis sees top-three spot slipping

THE injuries are mounting at St Peter's where tomorrow Sylvans simply must win against fading champions Bels.

Having fallen eight points adrift of the leaders and title favourites North, Sylvans boss Martyn de Garis says there can be no more slips and even failing to finish in the top three is a concern for him.

De Garis and assistant Steve Ogier have a big job on their hands to pick up their players after Wednesday's dispiriting 5-2 defeat by North.

And while there is a good chance that key defender Greg Roland could return, the bad news for the red-and-whites is that forward Danny Watts and defender Nick Trebert are both unavailable and it's is still too early for Joe Alvarez, Aaron Ferbrache, Harry Smith and new recruit Luke Mollet to return.

The only plus for de Garis is that they are playing at home, where they seem to play with a good deal more confidence and success.

Meanwhile, Vale Rec are at Port Soif tomorrow and a win would take them level on points with North at the top, albeit with one game more played.

Only a clear six-goal win would be enough to displace Will Woodford's side at the top, but Rec coach Andy Bougourd simply wants a win and a good performance having wasted a highly-promising position last time they took on Karl Addis's side in the league at Port Soif.

Both games kick off at 2pm.
