Green Lions top heavy on attackers

DUAL commitments mean that Guernsey FC's defensive resources will be stretched to their limit tomorrow.

Carshalton Athletic are looking to become the first side in six games to win at Footes Lane and dent the play-off hopes of a GFC side which is likely to have a squad top-heavy with attackers.

The 'Under-21 Muratti' in Jersey means that the Green Lions are without Liam Mahon and Tom de la Mare, as well as their coach Angus Mackay.

Tom Strawbridge was due to assist Mackay but last week's injury to Lions captain Sam Cochrane means he is being held in the island to play for GFC.

It was during the warm-up against Horsham that Cochrane strained his hamstring and he is doubtful ahead of tomorrow, as he waits to see whether he has any reaction to last night's training session.

After the midweek Ryman South games, GFC remain in 10th place and with 13 games remaining, are 10 points behind Whyteleafe, who occupy the final play-off spot.

The game kicks off at 1pm.
