GUERNSEY will try to start putting right a dreadful recent Star Trophy record today when they host Jersey in the 'Schoolboy Muratti' (noon kick-off).

And for the first time ever, a winner is guaranteed, as a penalty shootout has been introduced in the event of a draw, with the trophy having previously been shared.

That happened in 2007's draw, one of only two occasions in the last decade where Guernsey have avoided defeat in the fixture, with Jersey winning eight of the last 10 matches.

'What I do know is that we are as well prepared as we can be because we have been training together since October and hopefully the hard work they have put in will pay off,' said coach Jacques Isabelle.
