Sarnian quartet will make Games debuts in Jersey

FOUR debutants will accompany the big names as Guernsey have named the team they hope will retain the Island Games table tennis team gold medal this summer.

The Sarnians were near-on unbeatable in the Isle of Wight four years ago on their last outing, winning five of the six golds up for grabs as only the men's singles eluded them.

As a result they will be the team to fear in Jersey in three months' time and they name another strong eight for the trip across the water, headlined by Garry Dodd, Alice Loveridge and Dawn Morgan.

But there are new faces in the shape of the remainder of the men's quartet – teenagers Alex Robinson, Joshua Stacey and Joshua Butler – as well as Sam Kershaw in the women's team.

Beth Priest is the fourth survivor from the 2011 team and she will again likely be back-up in the team event behind Loveridge and Morgan, while Dodd and another will be the men's team duo.
