Jordan Reynolds' side travel to London Irish Wild Geese on the first day of the season on Saturday 5 September and a week later they play their opening home fixture against Chichester, another of the high-flying sides in the 2014-15 campaign.

Reynolds' men can look forward to five new opponents over the course of the season –Bracknell, Eton Manor, Wimbledon, Colchester and Shelford – and he is optimistic of achieving promotion over the eight-month schedule.

One man he will be reliant upon is the newly- announced player of last season, Lewis Hillier.

A key man in the lineout with his jumping ability, Hillier received the players' player of the year at the GRFC's end of season presentation dinner.

'His work rate was pretty outstanding and if you look back at the stats he was always among the top two or three,' Reynolds said.

'His work ethic to training was also superb.'
