Experienced Perkins' dual role at Les Landes

THE vastly experienced Richard Perkins will combine managerial and coaching duties with shooting for medals in the Island Games full-bore competition at the Crabbe and Les Landes ranges.

Perkins, who has won the island championship on several occasions, is by some distance the most experienced of the quartet named.

Youngest of the quartet is Elizabeth College student Phil Barber, who in the recent GRC Astor event at Fort Le Marchant showed his qualities by leading the student team to victory over the GRC squads.

Two young Old Elizabethans – Rob Waters and Nick Branch – complete the team which with the welcome support from Generali are soon to visit Jersey to practice on the 1,000-yard range at Les Landes, something they cannot do in Guernsey where the longest range is 600 yards.

The full-bore event features both Queen's-style individual events at 300, 500, 600, 900 and 1,000 yards, plus a pairs competition.
