Jordan aiming to provide goals from midfield

RHYS JORDAN has promised to deliver at least 15 goals in what he hopes will be his best – and most consistent – Guernsey FC season yet.

With the 20-year-old attacking midfielder confident of cementing a spot in Tony Vance's weekly plans moving forward, he sees no reason why he cannot race past that self-made goals target.

The former Bristol City professional suffered a serious knee ligament injury last September away at Corinthian-Casuals and has not played since.

But having made a full recovery, he hopes to play some part in this weekend's pre-season friendly double-header at Footes Lane, just a week before Ryman South gets under way.

With plans to turn pro again currently shelved after a frustrating two-season spell in Bristol, the exciting youngster has eyes only on improving GFC.

'On a personal level this season is all about doing everything I can to break into this GFC side ahead of some good players, then remain there and benefit the team in doing so,' Jordan said.

'If I can remain injury-free and be a consistent part of the team, I honestly believe I am capable of scoring 30 goals this season if I am playing in a more advanced role.

'That is a big aim, but I have told Tony that I will definitely get him a minimum of 15 goals and hopefully a lot of assists in there as well.'
