Three times a record breaker

A HAT-TRICK of record-breaking runs in succession saw teenager Jordan Caradeuc pick up the latest Forest Road Garage Personal Achievement award at Saturday's hill climb.

At the start of the day, it was Jersey driver Chris Guy who held the racing cars up-to-600cc class record with 31.86sec., but Caradeuc lowered that in his second run.

That 31.63 was just the start, though, as he then recorded times of 31.54 and finally 31.50 to end the day as one of six new record holders.

The other two competitors who were in the reckoning for the award were Andy Digard and Zef Eisenberg, two of the other record-breakers.

Eisenberg once again lowered his best time in his new Madmax Quadbike, this time clocking 34.05 to lower his club class record from 36.76.

As for Digard, he lowered a three-year record in the classic motorcycles pre-1980 class that had been held by Jersey's Paul Mollet, with Digard's new mark standing at 35.84.

The other records to go saw Darren Warwick improve his own status as the fastest Guernseyman ever up the hill, taking 0.26 off his previous best time to cross in a rapid 27.52.

Chris Guille switched from his single-seater on this occasion and broke the roadgoing specialist production cars record, while Geoff Barnard from Jersey has set the first time ever in the new post historic cars pre-1967 class.
