Three finest head down to Jersey

NORTH, Sylvans and Vale Rec all make the short hop across the water to Jersey tomorrow for a hectic day of inter-island Wheway Cup quarter-final action.

And with the trio having avoided CI champions St Paul's at this stage, all three will fancy their chances of forming part of a Guernsey-heavy semi-final line-up.

Sylvans, last season's Priaulx runners-up, undoubtedly face the toughest task against Scottish, although Jersey's second-best side are without main man Jack Boyle. The Jersey Muratti star dislocated his knee last weekend and his side have also lost tricky winger Zeljko Martinovic over the summer, giving extra credence to a potential Sylvans upset.

That match at Les Quennevais is just a couple of miles down the road from arguably the standout clash, a match-up between Wanderers and Vale Rec.

Rec are boosted by the inclusion of Guernsey FC's in-form midfielder Liam Mahon as the Green Lions have a weekend off, while Glenn Le Tissier will also return after missing their opening day league win.

The other inter-island encounter sees North travel to Trinity for the first of two meetings inside of a week between the pair.
