THEIR cup dreams are over for this season, but Guernsey FC may soon be able to call upon star Jersey midfielder Luke Watson in their Ryman South quest.

While the Green Lions were losing 2-0 at Thurrock in the FA Trophy preliminary round, Jersey's captain confirmed that, if approached by Tony Vance, he is highly interested in signing for GFC.

'It is still a bit of a way off yet and there are some hurdles that need to be overcome, with the main two being finding a job and accommodation,' he said.

'But if that were able to happen and Tony wants me as part of his set-up, then I am definitely willing to move to Guernsey permanently and give it a proper go. Like anybody, I want to test myself at as high a level of football as possible and the reality is that GFC are playing at a far higher level than the Jersey Combination.'
