Sylvans and Vale Rec both aim for long-awaited Wheway Cup final appearance

MORE than a decade has passed since either last graced the Wheway Cup final, but Sylvans and Vale Rec will face-off this weekend for a place in the Springfield showpiece.

Guernsey finalists in Jersey's main cup competition have been scarce in recent years, but the victors at St Peter's tomorrow will fancy their chances of lifting the silverware next spring.

Despite Rec's fantastic start to this season, it would be argued that Sylvans are favourites due to their formidable home record at 'Fortress St Peter's'.
