A good point for Green Lions

GUERNSEY FC maintained their strong run of form with a hard-fought 1-1 draw on the Kent coast at Herne Bay last night.

The Green Lions led for more than half of the game after Ross Allen had given them a first-half lead, but Frannie Collin's equaliser was enough for the hosts to grab a share of the spoils.

It means GFC remain 17th in the Ryman South table but with several games in hand and confidence high after picking up seven points from the last nine, ahead of a visit of bottom-side Chipstead on Saturday.

Tony Vance admitted that his side were slightly disappointed to not pick up a third straight victory but that, all things considered, a draw was not a bad outcome.

'The lads had to work hard for that result tonight and although we felt like we did enough to possibly win the game, a draw in a midweek away game is definitely not the worst result for us,' said the Lions manager.
