High-flying Molesey visit Footes Lane

GUERNSEY FC will have to make do without their captain and juggle their defensive ranks as they look to shut out free-scoring Molesey at Footes Lane tonight.

The Green Lions' good run of Ryman South form – which has seen 10 points won from the last 12 – will be tested significantly as they host the side flying high in the play-off places.

By rattling in 31 goals in a dozen games, they are the league's top scorers and in James McShane have the early leader for the golden boot with 12 of those.

With GFC skipper Sam Cochrane suffering a small hamstring tear at the weekend, Tony Vance is likely to call Marc McGrath back into the squad in his place.

It is a game that Vance knows his side can win, but they will have to play well to do so.

'This is probably the toughest test we could have at the moment because Molesey are in super form and scoring a fair few goals as well,' Vance said.

Although bringing Jamie Dodd back into the starting XI now seems a formality, Vance has big decisions to make further up the pitch such as whether to bring Craig Young into midfield, should McGrath start and if Luke Winch's match-winning display on Saturday warrants a long-awaited start.

Tonight also marks the Green Lions' 100th competitive game at Footes Lane.
