Shelford 27, Guernsey Raiders 25

RAIDERS' brave fightback in Cambridgeshire came to nothing more than a consolation bonus point on Saturday afternoon.

In windy and wet conditions which suited 10-man rugby, Jordan Reynolds' side went down 27-25 to Shelford who leapfrog the Guernsey side in the National Three London & South East table.

Having had the strong wind at their backs, the home side led 21-10 at the break before Guernsey fought back and twice led by a point in the second half before a late penalty condemned them to a fourth loss of the season.

Owen Thomas kicked 20 points for Raiders with Matt Thomas scoring their try.
