TONY VANCE declared Saturday as one of his finest days as Guernsey FC boss as his side earned a deserved 2-0 win at second-placed Worthing.

Ross Allen's first-half double earned the Green Lions the spoils in a solid performance and the visitors held their shape admirably to limit the 'Rebels' to very few clear chances.

'The lads went about the game plan really well,' said Vance. 'They took it to another level and deserve huge credit. They delivered our approach to the ultimate level.

'It's most pleasing to beat a side away from home, who are flying and have an advantage on a 3G pitch – to win 2-0 and not really be worried too much defensively. It was one of the most pleasing performances I've seen in five years from this group.'
