Tooting & Mitcham are hit for six

CHRISTMAS arrived six days early for the Green Lions via a lucky penalty and with Ross Allen delivering another hat-trick to extend his lead at the top of the Ryman South scoring charts, the Green Lions romped to a highly-entertaining 6-2 win over Tooting & Mitcham United.

A crowd of 759 watched Tony Vance's side win for the fourth straight game and fifth time in six matches.

But with Ramsgate defeating Herne Bay 1-0, Guernsey FC stay in fifth place in a remarkably congested top half of the table behind the runaway leaders Folkestone Invicta who won the top-of-the-table clash with Worthing by a solitary goal.

Allen won his umpteenth official GFC man of the match award, but for many Ryan-Zico Black was the chief orchestrator and afterwards remarked that the side were playing as well as any time in their short history and were in the promotion mix.

'I think if we carry on the way we are going and keep improving, and get the squad depth we need, it is realistic,' said the midfielder.

The other goals came from Craig Young, Sam Cochrane and Matt Loaring.
