Priaulx focused on debut win with new racing team

A NEW ERA begins for Andy Priaulx this weekend when he races for Ford Chip Ganassi Racing for the first time.

For the Guernsey driver's debut with the team in the Rolex 24 at Daytona, he will share the No. 01 Target/Claritin Ford EcoBoost Prototype with New Zealander Brendon Hartley, Canadian Lance Stroll and Austrian Alex Wurz.

While this is the first time he will race the car, he has already become familiar with it at the recent 'Roar Before the 24' test at Daytona International Speedway.

'It was I think natural for me to be a little apprehensive over the last couple of weeks about the transition, but having driven the car I forgot all the worries, as I immediately felt comfortable,' said Priaulx of that first outing in a car that is much more powerful than what he has been used to of late.

'Also the team welcomed me as if I had been there for a long time. They made it quite clear they have employed drivers with heart, but they also want performance and this is something I aim to deliver.'
