Green Lions hit Walton Casuals for six

ANOTHER scintillating six-star Footes Lane display saw Guernsey FC's promotion bid march on in style as Walton Casuals were put to the sword.

The league's top scorers were irresistible at times in a 6-2 victory that, coupled with Herne Bay's slip-up, sees them move to within a point of the third spot in Ryman South.

Ross Allen recovered from injury to start and scored twice, but Glyn Dyer and Craig Young were the star men, with Young yet again named man-of-the-match. Even the concession of two late goals with the game won could not dampen Tony Vance's mood.

'It was game over when they scored their goals and we took our foot off the gas, with myself making some changes to personnel,' said the GFC manager.

'But we had the game won in the first-half when I thought we were superb and played some brilliant football at times.'
