Joby joins Lions for last test

JOBY BOURGAIZE is hoping for a career swansong with Guernsey FC after deciding to quit playing for his boyhood club Bels.

Bourgaize, 30, says he wants to get himself into the best possible physical shape and hopefully get some game time with the Green Lions, but is taking nothing for granted in terms of appearances with the island's flagship club and says he has no axe to grind with Bels who he promises to help out if really necessary.

'If Bels really need me I will go back and help them,' he said yesterday.

Speaking yesterday and having trained with Guernsey FC the previous evening, Bourgaize said he was under no illusions how tough it would be to break into the starting XI.

'If I get to play it will be a bonus,' he said.
