Watson through to last eight in Mexico
HEATHER WATSON has stormed into the quarter-finals of the Abierto Monterrey Afirme WTA event in Mexico.

Following her marathon three-set first- round win over Misaki Doi on Monday, the British No. 2 spent less than half the time on court in the second round yesterday as she saw off Polona Hercog in straight sets, 6-2, 6-3.
Watson will now face either Mirjana Lucic-Baroni or second seed and former world No. 1 Caroline Wozniacki, who play their delayed second-round match tonight.
