GFC pay the price for not finishing their chances

GUERNSEY FC boss Tony Vance bemoaned his side's inability to capitalise on their early dominance yesterday as they lost 2-1 to East Grinstead Town.

Matt Loaring gave the Green Lions the lead in a bright start but further good opportunities were spurned and the Wasps improved to equalise before half-time.

Ryan-Zico Black's own goal midway through the second half proved to be the winner.

'We should have put them out of sight,' Vance said.

'We were dominant for the first 30 minutes and the game should have been done and dusted.

'We kept trying to score the perfect goal and our inability to finish off chances and not getting our shots off at the right time cost us.

'It gave them something to fight for. They got back in it with a good goal, but we switched off.

'But I'm more disappointed about the way we let them off the hook.'
