Le Poullain 'getting better with every fight'

AFTER another emphatic victory, Billy Le Poullain is three wins away from arguably the greatest achievement in local boxing history – winning a senior national ABA title.

The 20-year-old welterweight outclassed Southern Counties champion Felix Kelly in Liverpool and he now returns to the city this weekend to box in ABA finals at the famous Echo Arena.

The quarter-finals draw will not be made until Friday afternoon ahead of the ties that evening, while semi-finals are held a day later and then the finals on Sunday. But Le Poullain is hugely confident.

'I feel like I am getting better with every fight at elite level because I am learning new skills and tricks every time I face someone like that,' he said.
