Second Chalmers brother gets Britain call-up

THERE are now two Great Britain vests in the Chalmers household.

And anything Cameron can do in athletics, younger brother Alastair seems fully capable of matching.

Yesterday, British Athletics confirmed the 16-year-old as their 400m hurdler for the European Youth Championships in Tbilisi, Georgia, news of which came just a couple of days after elder brother Cameron won on his own Great Britain debut in Germany.

Alastair had been waiting and hoping ever since achieving the qualifying standard at Bedford, the previous weekend.

Naturally, he was delighted with the call-up.

'It has been my dream to run for Great Britain. It will be an amazing experience,' said the Elizabeth College student and Dale Garland-trained athlete.
