YET again, the Butterfield Bolts lived up to their name last night as they stormed to a fifth successive Canaccord Genuity Inter-Firm Town Relay victory.

A record entry – upwards of 60 teams – turned out for the annual event, including several well-known names from island sport.

One of those, Commonwealth Games mountain biker Rob Smart, was part of the Bolts team for the first time and was able to celebrate a winning debut in the event.

He ran the third of the four legs after teammates Tom Swain and Danny Fooks had put them into the lead and he maintained that position before handing over to Ben Wilen.

Wilen comfortably held off any challenge on the anchor leg to bring his quartet home first, beating off the challenge of Trainstation by around 20 seconds.
