Heaume's focus more on league

IT'S five days and counting to the first ever FA Cup tie on Guernsey soil, but Dom Heaume is not thinking about the Thamesmead United clash yet with three important points to be grabbed at Footes Lane tomorrow night.

The late submission away to Ramsgate makes it vitally important that GFC take all three points from the first home game of the season against first-time visitors to 'The Lane'.

Cray Wanderers are new to the Ryman South having switched over from Ryman North where they reached the playoffs in the Spring.

On the opening day of the season they showed plenty of fight as they hit back from 3-1 down to draw 3-3 at home to Sittingbourne, Tony Russell's side snatching a point in the second minute of stoppage time.

Heaume says the Green Lions 'are quite lucky to have the opportunity to change things around so quickly with one game in the league and one in the cup'.

'The cup is a kind of bonus. The league is more important, especially after losing at the weekend. If we can get a result it can give us a push for Saturday.'
