The No. 67 Ford GT of Andy Priaulx, Marino Franchitti and Harry Tincknell finished in fifth place in class and the No. 66 car of Stefan Mucke and Olivier Pla finished in seventh position at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez where the altitude of 2,250m above sea level produces a challenging atmosphere for car and driver alike.

'A podium would have felt like a win for us and that's where we were heading, but it wasn't to be,' said Priaulx, who had got the No. 67 car up to as high as P2 during his stint in the race.

'We worked hard all weekend to find the sweet spot with the car and it was great.

'The team really pushed to get there and it's so tough for everyone working at this altitude they deserve a huge well done.'
