Confident Priaulx arrives in Texas

IT MAY have been two years since Andy Priaulx last raced on the Circuit of the Americas track in Austin, but it left a lasting memory on him and he calls it a 'fantastic' circuit.

This weekend he will get the chance to be back there in the No. 67 Ford GT for round six of the FIA World Endurance Championship.

Prior to leaving for the US, Priaulx, who shares the Ford Chip Ganassi Racing car with Marino Franchitti and Harry Tincknell, spoke about the challenge ahead.

'It will be interesting to see how well we do in Austin. I knew that in the past they have had mixed conditions with torrential rain in 2014 and very dry, hot conditions last year.

'I think our car can cope with anything and after Mexico, where I don't think our result reflected the amount of effort we put into the weekend, I am in a confident mood.'
