AFTER 13 away defeats in a row, the Green Lions finally stopped the rot on the road at Morden last night against the table-toppers.

The most unlikely of heroes came in the shape of reserve centre-back Jack Domaille, who saved the day with two late goals, the equaliser coming in the 90th minute.

'It's a massive honour for me to pull on the Guernsey shirt and that was for the coaches and my teammates, they've supported me so much,' said the hero of the hour afterwards.

While his relieved boss Tony Vance said: 'He is another great story – a Guernsey lad who took his chance and it's a night he will never forget'.

Tooting & Mitcham then hit the bar with three minutes of stoppage time played, but the Lions' courage and spirit in the face of adversity was rewarded with the final whistle.

The result leaves the Lions in the bottom three but the first away point won in nine months – the last came on 27 December – will be a huge lift to the Lions who, when Seb Skillen pulled out ill, were left with a 13-man squad to travel to the league's form side.

The match appeared to be going to form when Tooting & Mitcham led 2-0 through a Billy Dunn brace either side of half-time, but Domaille pulled one back on 74min. and headed a second with time almost up.

At the other end, young goalkeeper Jordan Kelly had a great debut.
