GFC's Young dispels fears of foot fracture

CRAIG YOUNG hopes to miss no more than a fortnight of football after dispelling fears about the foot injury he suffered in Guernsey FC's latest away day defeat.

The in-form forward hobbled off after 65 minutes of Saturday's loss to South Park after coming off the worst in a heavy challenge as his side were searching for a way back into a game they eventually lost 2-0.

GFC's official website described Young's injury as a 'suspected fractured foot', but the man himself has dismissed those suggestions and says it is nothing too serious.

'It was sore and I was hobbling on it coming back on Saturday, but it is just a knock.

Indeed, it could prove to be that Young misses even less football if Saturday's game at Hastings United is postponed, which will be the case if the UK side win their FA Cup replay tonight.

Given their injury list, the Green Lions may hope that is the case, although they will definitely be in action a week tomorrow in a midweek away trip to Cray Wanderers.
