Guernsey Raiders 17, Hertford 31

THE Creasey name is synonymous with the Guernsey High Street, but on Saturday Hertford's own Ben Creasey came up with the goods.

The outstanding winger with the flame-coloured boots might well have left scorch marks on the Footes Lane pitch with an expert display of finishing in scoring a hat-trick that saw the National Three London & South-East leaders inflict a first home defeat of the season on Raiders in the big top-of-the-table clash.

Creasey was given a helping hand by some of the defending, which left a lot to be desired at times as Jordan Reynolds was quick to point out afterwards.

'Defensively we were pretty immature,' said the Guernsey coach.

'Some of the time it was easy to defend and for some reason we had players who did not want to make tackles or did not want to drift onto the ball and that just made it easy for them.

'When they were pumping it wide like that, it was something I felt we have dealt with before. Maybe we need to have a look at what players we have where because that was the clinching factor today.'
