A 2-1 home victory over East Grinstead Town lifts the Green Lions up to 17th place and seven points clear of a Chatham Town side occupying the first relegation spot in 22nd.

Goals from Kyle Smith and man-of-the-match Tom Dodds were the difference, with Dodds' winner coming just seconds before half-time and moments after Marcus Elliott had levelled it for the visitors.

Afterwards, GFC manager Vance was pleased with his side, despite missing several chances.

'We made it hard for ourselves by not taking some of those chances, but we did enough to say that we deserved to win that game,' he said.

'There was some really good football played at times in the first half and we created some good chances early on, which, if taken, would have made it that bit more comfortable.'
