Loanees make instant impact for Green Lions

BRISTOL CITY had an immediate impact on Guernsey FC's fortunes as two loan players helped them to a rare Ryman South away draw on Saturday.

Published

Just hours after under-23s players Jake Andrews and Kodi Lyons-Foster had joined the Green Lions on a month loan after the link-up between the two clubs, the pair both started at Herne Bay.

Andrews scored from the penalty spot as GFC led for 25 second-half minutes, but ultimately Danny Walder's penalty at the other end meant the sides shared a 1-1 draw. But with Chatham Town losing it means that GFC move five points clear of the relegation zone.

Manager Tony Vance admits it probably will not be the last time we see Andrews or Lyons-Foster.

'A lot depended on how this game went and it went as well as I could have hoped because their arrival gave everybody a lift and enhanced everybody's performances,' he said.

'Their attitudes were top-class from the first moment we met them and it was a situation that all the lads responded well to and brought the best out of them.'
