Bels face biggest test

AFTER winning their first game of the season – and under Charlie Pinsard's leadership – Bels face the toughest trip possible tonight as they visit North.

The re-arranged FNB Priaulx League fixture sees top host bottom at Northfield, but with Bels coming into the clash off the back of a long-awaited first victory.

A 4-2 success at title-chasing Rovers on Saturday also served as a boost for tonight's opponents as, despite drawing with Rangers, North have still dropped nine less points than their nearest rivals.

Not that Bels coach Pinsard is too fussed about that battle and instead is focusing on trying to use their maiden victory as a springboard for his young side.

'The win has been coming because we have been in a lot of games for an hour and then faded late on, so this was a big relief because I have been telling the boys for a while now that it will come,' he said.

'I am confident that we will go there and give a good account of ourselves and not let North have it all their own way, but we are still big underdogs.'

As for North coach William Woodford, he saw his side's perfect winning start to the season come to an end in that 3-3 draw at Rangers, but they are still unbeaten after 10 of their 21 games.

Tonight's game kicks off at 7.30pm at Northfield.
