Despite suffering a flight delay caused by fog, Jordan Reynolds' men made light of only having a short warm-up to get off to a flier with tries from Adam Nixon and Tom Ceillam, the first converted by Kenny Hellier and the second by Owen Thomas, as well as a Thomas drop goal giving them a 17-3 lead in the first half although that was reduced to six by half-time.

Dan Hill scored after the interval to make it 22-11 before Chichester staged a strong fightback to close to within four, but Thomas' late penalty sealed the win.
