Only a last-gasp intercept try for the visitors prevented the winning margin from being greater, with the game long-since won at that point after Raiders had come flying out of the blocks playing with tremendous pace and panache to score more than a point a minute in the opening 20.

'We wanted to play it wide with there being no wind out there and we had 21 points before we even knew it,' said Raiders coach Jordan Reynolds.

'The one thing that came through for me today was that even when it was wet we have not suffocated what we wanted to do in attack.

'We make some mistakes at times, but we looked to shift the ball the way we want to.

'The boys are enjoying the way we want to play and it is good for the spectators to watch too.'

The home side's tries were scored by Sam Steventon, Dave Davison, Romain Mercadal and Adam Nixon. All four were converted by Owen Thomas.
