Vance snaps and lets rip at squad

TONY VANCE has said it is time that his Guernsey FC players 'took responsibility' in a furious tirade after their latest Ryman South failure.

Speaking in the wake of the embarrassing 3-0 defeat at Godalming Town and ahead of tomorrow's home match, the Green Lions manager has torn into his squad in explosive fashion.

'I am fed up with having to face the media after every game and defend people for the same things every time. I think it is time that players took responsibility, faced up to the media and admitted their mistakes,' said Vance.

'I have defended this group of players to the hilt over the years and I feel they have deserved that backing, but right now, I don't think that is the case.

'Again and again we make the same mistakes, but too many players – most of them in fact – will not admit that and will shirk that responsibility.

'This season, only two players of those who have played regularly – Simon Geall and Tom Dodds – can honestly say they have turned up and performed.

'That speaks volumes.'
