Representing Hampshire in a field of 169 of most of the best women’s distance runners in the UK, both Mercier and Louise Perrio ran measured and determined races in the colours of Hampshire, who in no small part thanks to their efforts secured the team bronze.

Mercier, involved in a bunch sprint for the finish line, placed 21st to be third counter for Hampshire, while Perrio was 52nd, a minute and 15 seconds adrift of her fellow Sarnian.
