TOMORROW’S visitors to Footes Lane - Hytne Town - are every bit as desperate for the three Ryman South points available at Footes Lane as the Green Lions are.

But while Tony Vance’s side need the win to help preserve their Ryman South place, the team from Kent, who thrashed GFC 8-1 on a dark Tuesday night in January, want the victory as they chase a promotion play-off spot at the end of a week which saw them suffer a surprise and damaging loss at struggling Molesey.

Hythe manager Clive Cook reckons five clubs are fighting it out for two places in the play-offs, including his own men, with just a point separating eighth-placed Lewes from Carshalton in fifth, with Hastings in sixth and Hythe in seventh on goal difference.

‘It's between five clubs for two places,' he said.

'It is an unbelievable season. The Carshalton manager said to me that he loves it, but I don’t. I want it done. Roll on May.'
