Rovers must win to stay in Priaulx League title race

ROVERS coach Jez Robin says his side must become the first to inflict defeat on North tonight if they are to have any chance of winning their maiden FNB Priaulx League title.

The top two meet for the second time this season at Northfield, with the first game back in January at Port Soif seeing North come back from two goals down at half-time to win 3-2.

That has been the story of their season as they have overcome several deficits to remain unbeaten after 14 games, winning a dozen of those to establish a four-point lead at the top.

Throw in the fact that they also have two games in hand and it means that William Woodford's side need a maximum of 12 points from their remaining seven games to secure another title.

Therefore, if Rovers are to give themselves – as well as St Martin's – an outside chance, they must do what nobody else has done so far come 7.30pm tonight.

'Definitely, we have to win this game if we are to stand any chance because North are in a strong position and it is out of our hands,' said Robin.
