With professional duo Tobyn Horton and James McLaughlin ruled out, several youngsters get their chance to shine for the first time at this level.

Only one of the five-man road race team – Matt Osborn – has previous Island Games experience, but in contrast the men’s mountain biking team is strong and, in the main, highly experienced, with James Roe and Mike Serafin heading up the squad.

The women’s MTB team has only one rider – Megan Dowinton – with Games experience, but on the road front Ann Bowditch returns to the team after missing Jersey and lines up alongside the proven Karina Bowie and Jo Watts.

The full squads are:

Men’s road – Jack English, Matt Osborn, Simon Campbell, Jack Hoskins and Ricky Moore. Reserve – Seb Tremlett.

Men’s MTB – James Roe, Sam Culverwell, Mike Serafin, Andy Colver and Bradley Vaudin. Reserve – Andy Gibson.

Women’s road – Karina Bowie, Jo Watts, Ann Bowditch, Dani Hanley and Charlotte Le Lievre.

Women’s MTB – Megan Dowinton, Maddie Wilson, Tania King and Diane Tierney.
